$2-5 million dollars?I’m not trying to be in state tuition guy but could some of it be that?

This has to be a tough team to coach. The only consistent (ly good) guy has been Keegan. On a given night, you have no idea what you're going to get out of Key, Kris, Patty, Fil, A-aron, or Perkins. Connor and bohannon have been horrible all year. Makes things even tougher when Keegan keeps getting into early foul trouble.Outside of Bader most of the board could see this team was a bubble team at best. They've racked up a bunch of wins against garbage opponents and it doesn't look like Fran is going to make the appropriate adjustments to not play the shittiest of the shitty players. I don't think this qualifies as a "fade" which has mostly been bullshit anyway but it is his worst coaching job.
I don’t know what all expenses get counted.$2-5 million dollars?
Maryland? It seems like a pretty strong correlation to me; Purdue and Northwestern being the only obvious outliers.
Edit: and Iowa
I dont want that at all. This has to be a tough team to coach. The only consistent (ly good) guy has been Keegan. I'd like bohannon to become a limited minutes shooter off the bench and a guy that gets put in to seal the game when Iowa is ahead in the waning minutes. But I also appreciate the spot Fran is in - he's not going to let Jordan go out that way after six years and asking him to come back. So I guess we just have to live with that.
Why? Who else would you want at the line?I dont want that at all.
Not disagreeing but Hoiberg makes $1.25m more than Fran which accounts for the difference and Northwestern could be the tuition costs.I would add Iowa as an outlier as well, as they consistently finish in the middle than near the bottom.
Still, Iowa being outspent by Northwestern and Nebrantska is just embarrassing.
Edit: Beat by the edit.
the single biggest issue is the recruiting expenses that don’t show up in that list.Recruiting expenses for 2019:
Indiana $739,722
Illinois $703,536
Ohio State $519,527
Nebrantska $450,328
Minnesota $431,427
Penn State $430,506
Rutgers $362,775
Michigan State $276,103
Michigan $258,458
Iowa $235,031
Purdue $234,919
Maryland $199,257
Wisconsin $86,770
NW no disclosure
Fran shouldn’t get reimbursed for driving home from Carver to recruit. Win-win.Recruiting expenses for 2019:

Lol @ Indiana for somehow spending that much recruiting three in-state kids and one from NJ in the 2020 class.Recruiting expenses for 2019:

again, people don’t seem to get how this works.Lol @ Indiana for somehow spending that much recruiting three in-state kids and one from NJ in the 2020 class.
Indiana is also underperforming. It seems like a pretty strong correlation to me; Purdue and Northwestern being the only obvious outliers.

weren’t we complaining last year that there was too little talent on the second team?I expect a coach to not start his son over a player that is clearly better.
All true. I had low expectations, and it has been a joy to watch Keegan have one of the best seasons in Iowa player history. It will be a pleasant surprise if they make the NCAA tourney, which is what I thought at the outset. Before the season started we all agreed that this might be a bubble team with some luck. Common wisdom was that it would be tough to lose two guys early to the NBA and keep up the standard.
Currently, we might be a bubble team with some luck and every dipshit on the board is freaking out about it.
This team sucks to watch, but what the fuck did we expect?
Were we?weren’t we complaining last year that there was too little talent on the second team?
Define "clearly"I expect a coach to not start his son over a player that is clearly better.
Define "clearly"
I clearly have had sexual relations with several female members of your family.Define "clearly"
someone else on the team that can hit FTsWhy? Who else would you want at the line?
Dasonte Bowen is going to get a lot of playing time next year.Ulis is shooting 32% from inside the arc. His mid range game was awful last night.
22.6% on 31 shots in I am a giant douche games.
bohannon 26.7% including 25% from 3 in conference play.
Patrick 39%
Connor 24% after his career shooting night last night
this team doesn’t have shooters and it SUCKS
I was told that this team was going to be more fun to watch than last year's team. This team sucks to watch, but what the fuck did we expect?
Yes, they're a tournament team. This happens every year, and no one ever remembers how shitty the bubble is. Just don't lose anymore games to shitty teams and win the games you are supposed to win and that's it.Btw we are going to make the tournament.
Big tenBtw we are going to make the tournament.
Wonder if salary/pay owed to former coaches comes thru in here. Could explain some of the differences.Indiana $12,855,019.00
Michigan State $10,975,215.00
Illinois $10,404,451.00
Wisconsin $9,564,602.00
Ohio State $9,293,589.00
Michigan $8,800,186.00
Northwestern $8,549,357.00
Rutgers $8,168,723.00
Purdue $8,099,562.00
Minnesota $7,997,511.00
Nebrantska $7,448,108.00
Maryland $7,442,558.00
Iowa $7,215,672.00
Penn State $5,900,115.00
I expected them to beat shitty teams like penn st and butgers. Shit there is still a ton of experience and upper classmen on this teamBefore the season started we all agreed that this might be a bubble team with some luck. Common wisdom was that it would be tough to lose two guys early to the NBA and keep up the standard.

I agree with your premise around the bubble but what are the games we are supposed to win? I would argue the Nebrantska games, Minnesota, and Northwestern are the only games. Maybe also Maryland on the road but that's a stretch and I dont think you can include Michigan with Dickinson back. If we go 19-12 with Indiana at home as our best win I don't think we're in.Yes, they're a tournament team. This happens every year, and no one ever remembers how shitty the bubble is. Just don't lose anymore games to shitty teams and win the games you are supposed to win and that's it.
Beating the shit out of all the crappy teams NC really will help their NET/kenpom. Look at this pile of bubble shit: Florida, Creighton, Wyoming, Oregon, Mississppi State, SMU.
That’s a pretty good strategy. Hope Fran knows about it.Yes, they're a tournament team. This happens every year, and no one ever remembers how shitty the bubble is. Just don't lose anymore games to shitty teams and win the games you are supposed to win and that's it.

Why? If there’s one thing you can count on it is losing to those kinds of teams.I expected them to beat shitty teams like penn st and butgers. Shit there is still a ton of experience and upper classmen on this team
I’m *not sure* he doesThat’s a pretty good strategy. Hope Fran knows about it.
Oh. I thought you were serious for a second.someone else on the team that can hit FTs
This reply actually makes sense. So no ‘bow.I’m *not sure* he does
Fuck you then. This reply actually makes sense. So no ‘bow.
They're a 7 in Bracket Matrix right now bordering on 8. That's not really on the bubble. They may or not be good, but really only 15-20 teams in college basketball are really good. Iowa's predictive metrics will keep them in, barring a completely collapse. They absolutely will have to steal a game or two from an upper half team to get in. Their resume is not good and last night and the loss to Rutgers has put them behind the 8-ball.
We’re you listening to dudes story, Donny?Lol they're not getting a tourney bid, but the last time they made the NIT there were no old folks in the close seats and Carver was fuckin rockin. So I am kinda looking forward to that
