Lot of good signs for a double digit loss. bohannon played really well, Pemsl was a monster. Moss looked good. I thought the defense was much better even though the results weren't. They hit a ton of jumpers, some of them contested.

Took good care of the ball. Fought back on the road from a huge deficit and kept it a competititve game until late.

Agreed. It is odd to say that they improved on defense while giving up 92 points, but they did. This team will only get better and Cook being hurt for a month is a gift. It allowed other guys to take a big step forward.

I don't think Fran has figured out his rotations yet. He should have just gone with the lineup that was working. That stretch around the 12 minute mark with no Jok, Moss, Pemsl or bohannon was essentially the game.

Moss is this teams best perimeter defender. He should get more minutes just based on that alone but he also has some upside offensively. bohannon will be Iowa's all time 3 point leader if he stays healthy. So much more fun to watch than Gesell.

Fran: So many things I was pleased with. Ball movement was really good. Got outrebounded playing a small lineup a lot but a lot of good invididual performances. Pete was feeling the pressure of doing too much.

Defensively for about 32 minutes attention to detail and effort was great. Got a little tired. Really proud of Pemsl, he's smart and can run offense through him because he can pass. Lamented the T costing him a personal foul.

Team was really together. Pulling for each other on the bench, different lineups.

Learned from Florida and will learn tonight. Not surprised by bohannon but it changes everything. Was encouraged by a lot of what he saw. Will see the same lineup this weekend.

Williams and especially Wagner were a disappointment.

I think Wagner is a nice kid and everything, but he shows me absolutely nothing beyond a potential garbage man. For being so athletic, he doesn't finish well or strong. He doesn't shoot outside. Zero post game. Poor defense other than weak side blocks. Mediocre rebounder. Closer to 6'5'' than 6'7'' and is strong but not bulky.

Hopefully he will show something different but not seeing it.

We know Williams isn't a PG but I still want to see him off the ball before I make a final conclusion. I just don't see where Wagner fits in, especially next year. He's not beating out Cook or Pemsl for minutes at the four. He's going to have to make quite the transformation skill wise to earn minutes at the 3.

I'm not giving up on Williams yet, but hopefully tonight gives them a new direction to take him. He can and should be way more aggressive in the open floor. It looks sort of like he has been neutered and keeps trying to pull the ball back out and is thinking too much.
