So in listening to the various postgame shows, and hearing Rob Brooks on 1600 this afternoon, I heard at least five times words to this effect:

"Because of his time in the NFL, Kirk Ferentz will have no problem making a change in coordinators"

What the hell does that mean? It's one of those dumb things that one commentator pulls out of his ass and all the rest repeat over and over. Is there a legitimate point to the statement?

They also all like to point out that Parker and O'Keefe were the coordinators during the 02-05 seasons and mention that they wouldn't possibly make play decisions that KF would not approve of. And that Jake Christensen is totally awesome.

Coordinators are only part of the problem. They need some position coaches to go as well.

People like Rob Brooks toe the company line. Dolph and Podalak are waay more critical than Brooks, and the two guys that run the two second tier Hawkeye websites.
