Win this one and you are going to go into Madison at 4-0 and playing to be ranked in the Top 25. Don't forget that Tyler Cook is here and the forecast is a perfect 65 degrees and clear skies at kickoff. Hopefully Ott isn't hurt significantly and Daniels can play.

Conner being out is huge. He was a legit NFL running back. Pitt has a QB controversy going on with Voytik struggling again this year. He shared snaps with another guy today.

Pitt has a frosh Qadre Ollison who is pretty similar (we offered and i think his final two were Pitt and Wiscy)

Their 2nd string guy is pretty good, but Conner was a game changer. Need to contain their WR.

The guy who had 81 yards on 21 carries versus Akron today? Yay, I'm guessing he's not similar at all to James Conner.

To be fair, he had 16 carries for 207 yards last week.

If they win this game, going to be really hard not to get excited for a likely 2:30pm ABC game @Wisconsin. Might even start feeling a little 2009ish.

Long way to go until then.

2:30 does seem likely unless ESPN decides to go with #1 at 4-0 Indiana (if a bad Indiana team wins their next two)

At worst they are 2:30pm on either ESPN or ABC I would think. Army vs. Penn State feels like 11am on a secondary ESPN network, Nebraska vs. Illinois feels like BTN, Minnesota vs. Northwestern 2:30pm BTN and Iowa vs. Wisconsin and Ohio State vs. Indiana seem like ESPN/ABC.

This is way premature and primarily fantasy-driven based on yesterday's second half, but I checked Wisconsin's conference schedule and it's easily as weak as Iowa's. That kinda sucks. Their crossover games are Rutgers and Maryland, and Iowa's are Maryland and Indiana. Same two sides of a really shitty coin.

    http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa-15/big-ten/2015-wisconsin-badgers-football-schedule.php

This means that, if the Hawks want to contend for a divisional crown, you may as well circle the game in Madison (I can see two losses from Nebraska, who plays Wisc and MSU) as the tone setter for B10 West. I don't see UW losing another one after that. I'll get a better feel for Nebraska after their game in Coral Gables next week.

(I know I'm leaving Northwestern and Minnesota out, but fuck them.)

But yea, get healthy and beat Pitt first.

Seemed we saw quite a bit more Parker Hesse than Matt Nelson at DE yesterday. Worrisome depth at that position, now and tomorrow.

As long as Kirk can resist the temptation to lean too much on the defense/go ultra conservative, Iowa should win by 10.

CJ is earning Kirk's trust. Hopefully Kirk understands that it is possible for a QB to make big plays AND take care of the ball.

Hopefully the injuries are minor and all are healthy going into UW.

Where does CJ rank in terms of QBs in the I am a giant douche right now? He has to be 2nd/3rd (only counting Jones from tOSU). Cook might be the only other argument, right?

Going to be in Chicago next weekend - best place to catch the game downtown? Place called Theory Sports Bar is pretty close to where we are staying and I guess is owned by an alum. Thinking there unless any of you Windy Citians have better suggestions..

Four Shadows on Diversey is the best and it isn't close. It is wall to wall Iowa fans and they do giveaways and drink specials every time Iowa scores.

CJ will be even better at Kinnick after surviving a tough road test. Pitt's first road game against a good team will be rough for them, and they'll get half their usual production from their running game; Iowa hasn't allowed more than 70 yds rushing so far, Pitt will more than double that, say 150 yds rushing. Their passing game will be good in spots, but I think we get 2 picks.

    I'll call this Iowa 34, Pitt 14.

I could see a PSU' 10 type game at Kinnick on Saturday night. I'll give Pitt another TD and make it 24-10.

Right now Spears is the 5th DE. Next year Harris and Reiff plus maybe one of the true freshman (we have like 4-5 DE recruits... hopefully including Lattimore)

    Armstrong Jr. 9th
    Stave - 10th
