Jesus. This isn't your fucking job around here
Wasn't nlp's job either and look how that turned out
At least the lookers a hawk fan not a dirty spartan
Challenge me to a Hawkeye football trivia challenge you little pussy bitch
This shit's getting old.
What was the score of the 2016 Iowa/Iowa state football game?
What years did Chuck Long coach at Iowa?
And it was glorious
Top of my head I'd say 96-99 but I don't know if that's right. It was before he went to OU and they won the NC in 2000
Chuck positioned-coached Plez, Damien Robinson, Tom Knight and Bobby Diaco in 1995.
Apparently he should have gone over clock management with old Bobby.
ND State has gone to OT in both their games. They gave up 450 passing yards to Eastern Washington in a 3OT win.
Eastern Washington is pretty good though. NDSU will be much better than Iowa State.
Stanford fans were the most obnoxious group of assholes I'd ever met. A very, very, very, very close second are NDSU fans. I've witnessed grown men screaming at and taunting small children on multiple occasions. A tremendous collection of dumbfucks and assholes who honestly think they could walk into the Big Ten tomorrow and compete at the top of either division.
I'd really enjoy a cyclone style beat down on Saturday. They're better than we've seen the past two weeks, but not as good as they've been.
I think Miami (OH) would have a decent shot against NDSU. NDSU is not what they've been the last couple years.
Miami lost to FCS E. IL yesterday.
Do Cy Fans realize that their team will be the worst Iowa plays this year? Might have to create an account to find out.
This, it seems. While I haven't witnessed the screaming at children know a few people that are fans. When talking with them you'd think they are on par with Alabama. Hope Iowa pounds them and are up for the game. Do think NDSU will play their best game and sounds like they are bringing quite a few fans.
Klieman is an Iowa guy. He probably views this as an audition for DC in the future.
A few highlights can be found on their twitter page
Doug is slipping.
We're going in dry, boyz. Bite the pillow, you bison bitches.
Their RB is from Waterloo. Looks decent. Sorta like I imagine Mike Warren would look with a serviceable OL.
Funny to go back and read their message board. 2 weeks ago they were talking about the likely chance they upset Iowa in Kinnick, today they are hoping for a good effort and no injuries. I was kind of hoping their fans carried their unrealistic expectations into this game. Would have made for a more entertaining post game.
Living in the Twin Cities I interact with NDSU alum quite often...they are a weird bunch. Unlike UNI fans who seem to be dual fans that pay equal attention to FBS football, a good chunk of NDSU fans only really follow the FCS. This leads to comical, yet frustrating comparisons between their program and the blue bloods of FBS. Many think they are more relevant nationally than a program like Iowa because of their recent national championships.
I'm really having a hard time mustering up hate for North Dakota State. I didn't even know they were a thing until recently.
Hell, Matt Campbell has 5 national championships.
Exactly. UNI is a perienial FCS power and they barely get any coverage in the state outside of Cedar Falls.
(player and coach)
IIRC, Becht is worse than Mowins. I'm happy I will be at the game.
The ISU NDSU game from 2014. The Bison run a similar scheme to Iowa on offense and defense.
Bison were slow to get off the blocks in this game. ISU was even worse than usual on defense, gave up two very long TD runs and threw two picks. NDSU scored the last 34 points, ISU didn't score past a couple minutes into the 2nd quarter.
I'm not watching that shit
fast click advancing in the timeline makes it somewhat bearable.
They're the only program of any value in their state, and for hundreds of miles in aany direction. Minneapolis is closer to Des Moines than Fargo. They have no sense of place, and I'd bet locally the FBS gets little media attention compared to their opponents.
For everything wrong with UNI fans (and there's plenty), they can never ignore Iowa only 90 minutes away. They see the difference between a major bowl game and an FCS title, from a national prominence perspective, whereas NDSU doesn't.
Scheduling this game makes less sense to me than Iowa State. You get no credit locally or nationally for beating a FCS team regardless of how good they are. If you are going to schedule a FCS team, why not schedule a shitty one? While very unlikely NDSU beats Iowa, it is of greater chance than if you play nearly anyone else from that level.
Yep, you hit the nail on the head. North Dakota is a bizarro world where they truly believe they are more prominent and relevant than their closest FBS neighbor the gophers. Talking football with these goons is an exercise in futility.
I'm a big FCS fan and backer, but I also have some personal experience (as well as common sense) in the difference between the levels.
When we scheduled this game NDSU was barely coming off the transition from D2. They hadn't won't anything yet.
Didn't Barta also have some connection with them, say from his days at Wyoming?
he played football at NDSU
Barta was a QB at NDSU. They won two D2 national titles. Considering how often we play FCS schools, makes sense to schedule them. UNI is only other FCS game that would sell out.
