He didn't say that. He said, "not really" when asked if injury was limiting Wadley's carries....he didn't say "no." Which tells me it was part of the reason, but not the only one. In other words, as Morehouse wrote, "A sore knee AND a condensed playbook in a tight game."

"Condensed" playbook. Someone explain the rationale, por favor.

Plus- I'm sure KF is not thinking of Gus when he doesn't think it's a good idea to let everyone know that a huge part of their running game plan is banged up and could be a limited part of their game plan the next game or so.

I read it to mean a condensed number of plays, and that Wadley was inexplicably only part of the game plan if they got to run a bunch more plays. It's inane, IMO, but it seems to be the defense.

Poor pass blocking with banged up offensive line, banged up CJ, banged up Wadley. It really isn't that hard

This is a better point, but has to be balanced against how Wadley actually looked on his 3-4 carries.

It seems like KF is saying that it's a no-brainer. Close game...condensed playbook. Common sense seems to dictate that maybe a close game is when you should go ahead and open up the playbook.

In very few conceivable scenarios does Daniels as bell cow give Iowa the best chance to win, IMO. The staff seems to disagree in both word and deed. Ultimately, it's as simple as that.

You mean the 3-4 carries early in the game and none after early in 3rd qtr. Sure I suppose KF and GD could totally flip what they have done the first 2 and 1/2 games and just turned off the Wadley spigot early in the 3rd just to troll you and end up losing to an FCS school.....cmon Gus, listen to yourself

Without Wadley as an option (assuming they didn't want to get him more banged up), who do you think is a better option?

None of this should surprise anyone. The coaching staff was very open as far back as Spring that they were desperate to make Leshun Daniels the featured back, so that appears to be the exact direction they took.

The assumption is questionable, but they need to get Akinrobade ready to go if Wadley truly can't go.

Daniels is bad in difficult games where backs need to make their own yardage. He's proven it repeatedly.

Don't read in that I feel Daniels is the option that should be featured- I'm troubled that they didn't use Mitchell more in both running and passing out of the backfield to pressure their LBs and not let them cement their concentration on the running game. Their offensive imagination is lacking, especially last weekend.

Wadley could barely get off the field in the second half on Saturday.

Of even greater concern, Josie Jewell hyperextended his knee on that late QB draw. He could barely move on those last 3-4 plays. I won't be surprised if he is out of the lineup Saturday.

Would have helped, but trying to get a first down with the last possession would have been nice too.

Bring it in, boyz. The sting of that last loss will remain all season. The schedule over the next few weeks will allow us to heal up and grow before the real tough games begin. I liken Rutgers in the Big Ten to Ramsay Bolton in Winterfell. Neither one belongs there and everyone knows that. Iowa is the one true king in the North and I think we wake up and get back to business this week with a giant ass kicking. 45-17 Iowa.

Was the playbook condensed due to the injuries on Oline?

Any well, if the Oline is healthy and Wadley is better, I suspect we'll see a better performance this weekend.

No reason to believe it's a doghouse situation for Wadley, but it's fairly clear that the staff views LeShun as the fastball, and you always look to establish your fastball before showing your breaking stuff. So, when things are going well, I expect a nice balance, when they aren't, I expect them to keep plowing forward with LeShun.

That being said, if his long run isn't called back, we are all feeling pretty good about the Haws this week.

CJ unhealthy and immobile is still better than pretty much any QB in the I am a giant douche. He was not as sharp as normal last Saturday, but still played really well for the most part.

This is correct, but so fucking stupid. It will hurt us in every big game we play, in between okay to nice LeShun performances vs bad opponents, which serve to further embolden the staff in its approach.

I hoped he wasn't, but @douglasbader was so RATT on this call.

Yuengling reminds me of Coors in the 70s. Because its availability is limited people think it's better than what it really is
